DOstamping StarsThursday Challenge #50

So as I was wondering what to do for this challenge.
It came to me, I could Kill 2 birds with one stone.
I needed a Birthday card for my son and these colors are a bit manly...
So Here is what I came up with

This was my first attempt at an easel card using my Handy Big Shot, I also used ribbon fibers for the balloon strings. I cut along side the 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and pulled out the fibers. I think you need a visual :)
I will have to get to it. I hope you enjoy today's challenge card.

I am Not a Hoarder... Really I'm NOT

How Many Cards Can Your Scraps Make ?

Okay So how many of you Scrapbooker's or Card makers Save your Scraps?
I have this sense that if I throw away a good piece of card stock it's a WASTE.

Now I have been through therapy and realize I cant SAVE every Piece but For the most Part if it's large enough for me to use a punch on it,I will keep it.
  I am a little obsessive...
My Scraps are color coordinated and separated by plain card stock and printed paper/card stock.
That way it is easier for me to find just what I need.
Well a few weeks ago, I was re-organizing because my Up-line offers some really great Training resources and one of her tips is if you haven't used it in 3 months then get rid of it.

OUCH...
I probably have scraps that are 2 to 3 years old.
So I decided to take a stand and meet in the middle.
I will NO Longer keep little Scraps.
I went through and donated the scraps I didn't use to my niece and nephew's so they can have at it and create their own masterpieces at my sister's house.
&
I challenged myself to put my scraps to work for me. So I went on a mission and tried to create cards from only my scraps at first it was a bit of a challenge but after a few, I was on a roll...
So from now on after a few months, I will pull my scraps together and see what I can come up with.
It is one way to recycle something old into something new.
How many different ideas do you think you could come up with?
I bet you'll surprise yourself.
So here are pics of almost all the cards. I did leave them blank so depending on the event, I can stamp the sentiment needed.

These are a few bookmarks I came up with.

The Majority of the paper used is Stampin Up!
However there are so many cards, It was really to much to list,
if you have questions please feel free to e-mail me.
I would love to hear from you.
I would love for you to take my challenge and show me what you come up with.

Grad Nite 2011

So my daughter is graduating and with less than a month of High School to go, I have been so busy that I was happy to be able to make these little mementos for her and a few dear friends. They will be spending Thursday evening at Disneyland for "GRAD NITE" So I thought I could make some autograph/memory books for them. There outside front covers are all the same but I used different paper for the inside and back covers to try and personalize them a bit for each person. Now for this project I did use my BELOVED Cricut BUT after using the "BIG SHOT" I have to admit it was A LOT SLOWER It took me FOREVER because I had to cut each 6" Head SEPARATELY YUCK. If Only the Big SHOT had Disney Dies It would be a match made in heaven. lol

Materials Used

I used my trusty Cricut Expression, Mickey and Friends & Wild Card Cartridges
I used SU Basic Black Paper and Other Paper I had in my arsenal :)
I started with cardboard I have been hoarding here and there and cut 2 6" Mickey heads out of Cardboard/Chipboard and used these for the front and back cover.
I also cut 6" Mickey Hats for the back covers. I used SU retired set tag alphabet to emboss the "2011" and "nite" and used retired set Great Grads for the Grad in front. I cut 6 6" Mickey heads in white for the autograph pages and still need to add a little more embellishments to them. I then punched holes through the whole book with my ever faithful Crop-A-Dial and held them together with a 2 1" ring binders. I did use the Wild Card Cartridge for the cap which was cut out at 3 1/2", I then embossed them using versamark and green tinsel embossing powder.I made the little green mickey heads by embossing a green sheet of paper with the green tinsel embossing powder and then just used a punch I had.

Thank You, Thank You & THANK YOU !

I made this box of Thank You Card's for Master "D"'s Music Teacher
I thought they would come in handy for the end of they year.

On this project I did not use all Current or All Stampin Up! Supplies
The Stampin Up Current Supplies that were used are as follows:
SU! Stamp Set :Engraved Greetings,
Very Vanilla Card stock,  Photo Corner Punch, Decorative Label Punch,Big Shot & Big Shot Texturz Plates,

I Have so many Retired Stamp Sets and Papers that I feel it's a waste to not show you my favorite stamp sets and if anything, I can Inspire you to rework something you see for something that is in our current catalog or maybe it will spark your creativity to make something "OLD" New Again...
Happy Stamping,
